The Best Laid Plans

Something wasn't right, and the boy needed to take matters into his own hands; the red-head had held the reins for too long... she needed a date! He'd taken her out twice before, but she was due for another. He was just getting his plans set in motion when she called. Her nieces and nephews needed babysitting so Friday night was taken. Well, this boy isn't easily foiled, so he spent that evening with her watching the children and looked forward to the following evening. The next day, the boy was all ready to plan their date, when the unthinkable happened; more babysitting. He was frustrated, as far as she could tell, because he was actually DEVASTATED! So far he'd failed to lasso, and now he couldn't even get her out of the house. Things weren't going well for our hopeful hero. She cheered him up with the promise of watching his favorite movie together after the kids were in bed, and that worked well... until she fell asleep. He was feeling pretty neglected, and neglectful. His eyes were on the screen, but his mind was on the girl in his lap. He became full of fear that he was not treating her as he should, and he worried that he would begin to lose her...

A Not-So-Lone Man In The Wilderness

Camping: a great way to test the hygiene, humility and heart of your man! It was time to see how this boy held up in the rough with his redhead. A whole bunch of family was gathering to enjoy the wooded terrain of Arizona. That first night they set up camp, and the next morning took a canoe ride on the river. It was a test of teamwork. Our capable carrot-top took the front seat where she felt she could be in charge and he sat in the rear where he knew he'd be the driver. She gave orders he couldn't hear, and he gave directions she didn't like: it was perfect. At night around the camp fire she'd keep his lap warm and everyone would eat until they couldn't anymore. People would share stories and laugh and the boy tried hard to stay warm... sure the fire was hot, but the girl's kisses were even better. Later, Ol' Jim taught as the boy tried to learn to lasso; he had his eyes on that pretty redheaded-meat and he wanted to make sure he could catch her. Try hard as he could, though, the boy never got good at it. Still, our boy-scout was determined to never let his prize get away, so he decided to try a different method the following weekend...

Survival of the Fittest!

The boy was immediately sat down and interrogated. It was intense, there was ice-cream and brownies and a smile on everyone's face, but he survived. She played the world's cutest tour guide as she took him around town. She showed him every site and introduced him to a few close friends. She made sure they visited the Temple grounds to see just how eternal this boy's perspective really was. In her white sweater he held her close in front of the Temple, and there he told her for the first time, "I love you." She just smiled and then took him to see her father. Dad was very ill but took the time to examine this young man. Fortunately for the boy, Dad approved completely. The weekend was over too soon; there just hadn't been enough time for all the epic ex-boyfriend stories and awkward highschool pictures. They hit the road for home, planning their next weekend's adventure. Join us next week when our capable couple travels into the rugged wilderness of the backwoods of Arizona!

WHERE (almost) NO MAN HAS GONE BEFORE!!!

Our dynamic Darling now was poised for her next move. The boy hadn't called, but she just HAD to see him again. He was worn out from another rigorous day but seemed very eager when she called him! Finally the knock came at the door, and he welcomed her affectionately. It all came so naturally. The night before had seemed like a dream and now she was being pinched; yep, it was real. They spent the whole evening together, and there a happy pattern began: the boy would come home from work, soon she would knock, and they would be together until the late hours, comfortable as could be on the love-seat. She would give him just enough kisses and hugs to get him through another day. The weekend came, and it was time to put the boy on trial in Snowflake where the whole family was gathering. They were anxious to meet him and so was the rest of the town. He was dating their favorite girl and he needed to measure up - they would either lynch him or love him! The house was full and she held his hand as they walked through her Mother's front door...
